Privacy Policy

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details, because there is nothing on the site that needs them. There is no login, no newsletter subscription form and no comment section. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information with data brokers — we hold none to share.

One item, and only if you choose it: when you switch between the light and dark appearance, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage so the site opens the way you left it. It never leaves your device, it is not a cookie, and it is not readable by us.

You can remove it at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. The site will simply follow your system appearance again.

Like any website, requests to this site pass through hosting infrastructure that records standard technical details for security and reliability purposes. These typically include the requesting IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser user agent.

• These records are generated by the hosting layer, not by anything we have added to the page.
• They are used to keep the service available and to investigate abuse or outages, nothing else.
• They are not combined with any other information, because there is no other information to combine them with.

This site does not currently display advertising, and it sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only thing stored on your device is the appearance preference described above.

We intend to fund the site through advertising, most likely Google AdSense. Because that changes what happens on the page, we would rather set out now what it will involve than quietly switch it on later:

• Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on that activity — what the industry calls personalised advertising.

When advertising goes live, this page and its date will be updated in the same change, and the paragraph at the top of this section will say so plainly. If it still says no advertising is displayed, that is because none is.

Fuel rates are fetched from an external price service by our server, not by your browser, so that request carries nothing about you. Typefaces are served as part of the site rather than pulled from a third-party font host on page load.

Some pages link out to regulator and oil marketing company websites. Once you follow such a link you are on someone else's property, under their privacy practices, and we have no visibility or control over what they collect.

The site is a general-audience reference publication and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

If the site ever adds analytics, advertising or a contact form, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will move. We would rather this page be dull and accurate than comprehensive and aspirational.
