The official notification is the authority. We are a convenience placed on top of it, and where the two ever disagree, the notification wins.

Fuel rates in Pakistan change by government notification, sometimes at short notice and occasionally with same-day effect. There is an unavoidable gap between a notification being issued and any website reflecting it. Every rate on this site is stamped with the date it takes effect and the time we last checked it — please look at both.

Some panels on this site look ahead rather than back, and they are a different kind of thing entirely:

• The tomorrow's estimate is model output built on assumptions, not a leaked or notified rate. Nobody outside the decision-making process knows the next price in advance, ourselves included.
• Calculator results are arithmetic performed on the figures you enter. They inherit any error in those inputs.
• Per-vehicle fuel economy figures are typical real-world averages reported by owners. Your load, tyre pressure, traffic, air conditioning use and engine condition can move actual consumption substantially.
• Any market commentary is general background, not advice on a transaction.

Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, legal or business advice, and no client or advisory relationship is created by your reading it. Decisions about buying fuel, pricing freight, hedging exposure or timing a purchase are yours, and should be taken with proper professional input where the sums warrant it.
