Working it out yourself
The sum is one multiplication: litres × rate per litre = what you pay. At today's petrol rate of Rs 389.14, forty litres is 40 × 389.14 = Rs 15,565.60.
Going the other way is just as useful when you are filling to a budget rather than to a number of litres: divide the money by the rate. Rs 5,000 of petrol today is 5000 ÷ 389.14 = 12.85 litres.

Is it liter or litre?
Both spellings mean the same thing and both are searched for constantly. Pakistan follows British usage, so litreis the spelling on pumps, in OGRA's notifications and on this site. American English writes it liter. There is no difference in the amount — a liter and a litre are the same 1,000 millilitres, and the price per liter is the price per litre.
You may also see it shortened to ltr or L. All four refer to the same unit.
Does the amount change the rate?
No. Petrol and high-speed diesel are notified at a single countrywide rate per litre, and there is no bulk discount at a retail pump — a hundred litres costs exactly a hundred times what one litre costs. That is why a table like the one above can be correct for the whole country rather than only for one city.
The one product on this site whose price genuinely differs by city is Hi-Octane, because it is set by the oil marketing companies rather than notified centrally.
When do these figures change?
Whenever a new notification takes effect. Prices are revised on a set cycle, and the table on this page is rebuilt from the live rate rather than typed in, so it follows the notification without anyone editing it. The date in the heading is the date the figures apply to — if it says today, the numbers are today's.
